Pro Sling's Durablity

Aer Build Quality

The Aer Pro Sling exhibits excellent build quality, with a focus on durability, sustainability, and user-friendly design. The primary material used is CORDURA 840D re/cor recycled nylon, which is known for being lightweight, tough, and environmentally friendly. The fact that it is made from recycled materials adds a sustainable aspect to the bag, and its blue sign approval indicates compliance with stringent environmental standards.

The use of #8 YKK zippers is a notable feature, emphasizing reliability and smooth functionality. These zippers are known for their robust construction and efficient operation. Additionally, the inclusion of chunky pulls on the zippers enhances ease of use, providing a tactile and easily graspable surface for quick and effortless opening and closing.

Overall, the Aer Pro Sling’s build quality reflects a combination of premium materials, thoughtful design, and attention to detail, resulting in a bag that is not only durable and functional but also aligned with sustainability principles.

Functionality

Pro Sling's Feature Set

The carry strap on the Aer Pro Sling holds its ground with a functional design that may not elicit excitement but doesn’t disappoint either. Its simplicity comes through with removable gatekeeper clips that attach seamlessly to the bag’s loops, ensuring easy on-and-off.

In the middle of the strap, there’s a simple Duraflex side-release buckle – though not overly thrilling, it gets the job done. The presence of a D-ring just below the buckle allows for swift loosening of the strap’s adjustment, providing practicality without being overly flashy. While not making waves in the world of strap aesthetics, this design, could be described as “funky looking.”

To keep things tidy, strap keepers come into play, ensuring that any excess strap doesn’t dangle and disrupt the overall streamlined look.

Stepping into the interior of the Aer Pro Sling reveals a design that’s not just practical but downright ingenious. The main compartment steals the show with its dual zippers, allowing you to open it at any point along the horseshoe-shaped track. This flexibility comes in handy, especially when wearing the sling at an angle – by positioning the zippers on the top corner closest to your chest, enables quick access. Plus, the option for a partial opening gives you the option to just peek inside, without fully exposing the contents.

Once inside, the organizational prowess becomes evident. The space unfolds like a well-crafted puzzle, and when fully unzipped, most of your gear will be laid out in plain view. A thoughtful touch is the zippered sunglasses pocket along the front side, which is lined with a soft mesh.

Flipping to the back side unveils a world of high organization. A wide divider pocket takes center stage, ready to cradle an 8” tablet. Nestled within the divider, a zippered pocket patiently waits to house the smaller tech essentials – USB thumb drives, memory cards, and dongles find their home here. Just in front of this tech haven, two liner pockets with stretchy mesh stand poised for slightly larger items like earbuds.

Shape wise, the Pro Sling’s narrow triangle side profile cleverly allocates most of the space at the bottom. It’s the perfect spot for over-sized travel gear or and snacks. In fact, we’ve even turned this space into a makeshift grocery bag, comfortably fitting in a bunch of carrots and a container of hummus. Talk about adaptability!

Now, let’s dive into the discreet rear pocket of the Aer Pro Sling. Positioned against your body, it serves as a semi-hidden security pocket, adding an extra layer of protection for your valuables.

This pocket is tailored for flat items, making it an ideal storage place for your essentials like a passport, cash, smartphone, and wallet. Its strategic placement against your body not only enhances security but also ensures easy and quick access when needed, striking a balance between convenience and protection.

Primary Alternatives

The Aer Pro Sling positions itself as a relatively well-priced option in the market, and several factors contribute to its perceived value. Its standout feature lies in its unparalleled organizational design, setting it apart from competitors and making it a functional powerhouse for those who prioritize efficient organization in their daily carry.

However, it’s worth noting that the bag comes with some funky quirks and a distinctive aesthetic. While these characteristics contribute to its unique identity, they may not resonate with everyone, particularly those who are more fashion-conscious.

Our Overall Verdict

The Aer Pro Sling is designed for individuals who prioritize efficient organization and functionality in their daily lives. If you’re someone who values a thoughtfully crafted interior with dual zippers for versatile access, specialized pockets, and a strategic rear security pocket, this bag caters to your need for practicality and convenience.

This bag is particularly well-suited for those who appreciate unique design elements and are willing to embrace the bag’s distinctive quirks.

However, if your primary focus is on a sleek and conventional appearance without much consideration for built-in organization, the bag may not align with your preferences.

Overall, the Aer Pro Sling is a solid choice for individuals who prioritize functionality and organizational features over fashion trends. If you appreciate a bag that stands out for its thoughtful design and utility, this could be an excellent fit for your everyday carry needs.

Initial Usage

Upon initial using the Aer Pro Sling, the handfeel immediately conveyed a sense of quality and durability. The construction of the bag exhibits a tactile yet robust texture, providing a reassuring feeling when handling it. From a visual standpoint, the bag carries a distinct and somewhat unconventional aesthetic. We’re not fans of the way it looks, but its built-in organization is incredibly practical.
